Human abuse - A poem

Human abuse - A poem by P.K. Odendaal - March 2019.

There once lived a giant who was really unkind
And he abused all who didn't walk tall
Shouting and reeling without any feeling
For what is decent and right even at night

He acted with scorn to anyone born
Whom he could assign for not towing the line
His name was bully and he abused them fully
From morning till noon like an angry baboon
If you could not face his curses with grace
He would destroy you in a way to make you pay
For demeanors so small as kicking a ball

But you and I have seen what goes in between
When humans have to face such serious disgrace
As life has a stick which punishes quick
and keeps people's names who play violent games

Until one day when it enters that fray
And make others laugh in front of his staff
Whom he would undignify with any white lie
To mar his respect for himself for the sake of his pelf.
Steeping quite low wherever he go
Insulting God's creatures for anything that features.

God always has time to pick up the line
And punish at the behest of people opressed
As He will never allow iniquities to endow
Humans with shame for the sake of His name.
